It is found that the Cu foam host can not only offer extra zincophilic nucleation sites by increasing surface area, but also guide a uniform ion distribution due to capillary-like effect induced by the arrangement of numerous copper nanowires. Herein, nanowire-decorated Cu foam (Cu foam) with good wettability and zinc affinity was fabricated to enhance the reversibility of electroplating/electrostripping. Designing three-dimensional host material as the substrate is an effective approach to enhance the highly reversible plating/stripping behavior of Zn anode. However, the practical application of Zn anode is still impeded by the growth of dendrites during Zn plating/stripping process. Metallic Zinc (Zn), with high safety, low cost, and environmental friendliness, is deemed as a promising anode for aqueous zinc-ion batteries.
